When James's best friend told him that he was retiring at the age of 34, James decided he better learn the right way to handle his finances. He started reading books, and talking to people who were much more successful than he had ever been. What surprised James was that people with much lower incomes actually had much higher net worths.

When James started relating personal finances to something he could relate to, James was able to achieve great success with his own finances. He had the financial freedom at 38 to turn a layoff into an opportunity to consider how to spend the rest of his life.

He then decided that he would make it his mission to help others learn about personal finances in fun and simple manners. His first book, Street Hockey Millionaire, tells a fun and engaging story that will inspire the reader to take control of their finances in fun and simple ways.

James Allan is a graduate of the University of Waterloo. He graduated in Electrical Engineering, and worked as a professional engineer for 14 years before finding his true passion: teaching others fun and simple ways to succeed with their finances.
